To complement the current skills on our Board of Directors we are seeking candidates with a strong interest and understanding of the ADR, Ombudsman and wider consumer landscape, gained through a professional background in sectors such as dispute resolution, consumer affairs or law, whether in the public, private or voluntary sector.
Your sound grasp of our sector will enable you to interpret and advise colleagues on matters relating to the changing nature of dispute resolution and the consumer landscape and help set our direction for the future. Independent from any of our members and industry, you will play a critical role in overseeing and protecting the independence of the organisation and particularly the Chief Ombudsman and their deputies.
You will be a strategic thinker with experience of working at or close to Board- level in a complex or customer focused organisation and someone who can work with the Chair and other Non-Executive Directors to provide the necessary support, guidance and appropriate challenge to the Executive team.
You must bring with you a passion and commitment to support the Ombudsman to deliver the highest standards to consumers and its members and will assist the organisation to ensure that it continues to be a brilliant place to work for our staff and that we remain a market leader in our field. Your experience of successfully supporting innovative and fresh thinking among high-performing teams or organisations will also be vital.
